Robert C. Toothaker Jr., 66 FREEPORT -- Robert C. Toothaker Jr., 66, was born on May 13, 1945. His whole life he was a devoted husband, father and grandfather putting others needs before his own. He joined the Navy in 1965, and then went to work for his father learning carpentry. He was self-employed for many years until the time he went to work for Bath Iron Works. He worked at BIW for 30 years until retiring due to his diagnosis s of cancer. He battled his cancer courageously until Jan. 16, 2012, when he died at his home surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Angelina; his brother, Steven; his children, Marcie Johnson, Elizabeth Toothaker, and his son Robert Toothaker. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Megen Pozik, Katrina Toothaker, Chad Johnson, Andrew Johnson, Eden Collins, Scott Collins and Sophia Toothaker. There will be no services at this time.
