->WATERVILLE -- Rita A. Peters 86, formerly of Waterville, died early Saturday morning at Fallbrook Woods Assisted Living Center in Portland, Maine.She was born in Waterville, on June 26, 1921 the daughter of John and Sadie Peters and one of six children.She was educated in local schools and was a graduate of Waterville High School. She was formerly employed by M.H. Fisherman Co. of Waterville for several years as a supervisor. She was also a crossing guard for the Waterville Police Dept and school dept. She was a member of the St. Joseph Maronite Church Rosary Sodality. Rita spent her entire life caring for others. At a very early age, she cared for her mother and the her mentally challenged brother Joe until his death in 1987. She willingly raised two separate sets of nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, her brothers, Tom, George(Chic), Peter, Robert and Joseph and three nephews Lee, Darrell and Michael Peters. She leaves behind her nephew John Peters and his wife Sandra, a niece by marriage Nancy and several great nieces and nephews.Visiting hours will be Monday from 6:30 until 8:30 p.m. at the Gallant Funeral Home 10 Elm Street Waterville.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 1 P.M. at St. Joseph Maronite Church Appleton Street Waterville, Maine with Rev. Larry Jensen officiating with Rev. Mr. Peter Joseph assisting. Committal prayers will be recited at church and burial will be in the family lot in St. Francis Cemetery in Waterville.
