Rev. -John Erickson, conjoint de Lorraine Pettersen, père de Paul et Nancy, est décédé à l'âge de 82 ans.
ERICKSON Rev. John David (Dave), 82, of Pompton Plains, passed into eternal life on February 10. Survived by his loving wife Lorraine (nee Pettersen) of 60 years, daughter Nancy Ferguson and her husband John, son Paul and his wife Rosemary, and grandchildren Christine and her husband Michael Pfeffer, Leann, Steven and Thomas. Also survived by devoted brothers Ken of Wilmington, DE and Richard of Knoxville, TN. Dave was ordained at Central Presbyterian Church in Paterson in May, 1954 and served there from 1954-1975. He later served in ministry to churches in East Orange, Newark and Bloomfield. Dave was active in the Civil Rights Movement, and marched with Dr. Martin Luther King in Hattiesburg, MS and Selma, AL. He participated in the War on Poverty as chairman of the Paterson Task Force. He was also involved with Children's Haven, a group home for boys from troubled families. Dave was an avid gardener and lover of classical music. Formerly of Totowa, Paterson and Wood-Ridge, Dave and Lorraine moved to Cedar Crest in 2005. He was able to continue his love of gardening there for several years, as well as hiking and walking. A memorial service to celebrate Dave's life will be held at the Cedar Crest Chapel in Pompton Plains on February 18 at 11 AM. Arrangements are under the direction of the M.
