Phyllis S. Smith died March 7, 2011 at age 83. A Mass will be offered at 11 a.m. March 26 at St. Rose of Lima Church, East Hanover, N.J. Born in Newark, N.J., Mrs. Smith moved to Garden City, S.C., in 1988 after retiring from Foster Wheeler Corp. after 25 years as a secretary in the financial division. She was a past grand officer of the Lincoln Chapter-Order of Eastern Star of N.J. and member of the Ladies of the Moose, Surfside, S.C. Wife of the late Edward C. Smith, Mrs. Smith is survived by nieces, Elaine Kurczeski of Monroe Township, N.J., Maureen A. Smith of Pennsylvania, and Jackie Collin of Howell, N.J., and nephews, Tulio Braz of Nevada, John Smith of Rochelle Park, N.J., and David George of Howell.
