Pearl Ella Whidden, 88, Arcadia, died July 11, 2005, at Charlotte Harbor Health Center. She was born Jan. 7, 1917, in Pueblo, Colo., and came to De- Soto County in 1926. She worked as a clerk for Shop 'n Save. She was a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church. Survivors include her children, Larry of Bellville, Texas, Laretha Logue of Florence, S.C., Glenah of Inverness, David of Tavares, William of Indiantown, and Louella Hollingsworth and Mitchell, both of Arcadia; sisters Inez Hornung of Okeechobee and Betty Stuart of Portland, Ore.; 31 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight at Robarts Funeral Home in Arcadia. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
