WATERVILLE -- Pauline E. Clark, 90, died Saturday, April 24, 2010, at Oak Grove Center. She was born in Winslow, Oct. 27, 1919, the daughter of Walter F. and Sadie B. (Lashus) Simpson. Educated in Winslow schools, she graduated from Winslow High School in 1937. In June of 1940 she married Lewis E. Clark, and together they had resided in Benton since 1949. She was a lifelong member of the Second Baptist Church in Waterville, where she was involved in teaching Sunday school and vacation Bible school. She always taught the nursery class as she adored the little ones. Pauline was predeceased by her husband Lewis E.; two brothers and two sisters, Clement Simpson, Gertrude Larry, Gladys Booker and Walter W. Simpson.Surviving are a sister-in-law, Faith Simpson of Winslow; five nieces, Dawn Bickford and her husband, Roger, of North Belgrade, Faye Stevens and her husband, Elwood, of Benton, Bonnie Ryan of Winslow, Pamela Greene and her husband, Richard, of Shapleigh and Deborah Bowdon of Claremore, Okla.; a nephew, David Simpson and his wife, Susan, of Kennebunk; 10 great-nieces and nephews, Wayne, Dwayne, Elwood Jr., Wesley, Chad, Shannon, Brendan, Christopher, Melissa and Leah; seven great-great-nieces and nephews, Mikayla, Joshua, Bethany, Bradley, Nathan, Jessep and Narina.A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 29, at Pine Grove Cemetery, Grove Street, Waterville.Arrangements are under the direction of Redington Funeral Home, 5 Park St., Waterville.
