Paul R. Bratton III joined his wife, Roberta, this day, May 21, 2014. They were married for 60 years. He served 28 years in the United States Air Force, starting as an enlisted man in 1951, and receiving his commission after attending Officer Candidate School in 1953. He retired from the Air Force in 1979 as a lieutenant colonel.While a major in Tactical Air Command he received a Bronze Star, one of the highest achievements to be received. He was an exceptional leader with numerous awards and recognitions to his name. After retiring from the Air Force he worked for the State of Florida for 10 years as an Investigative Specialist for the Division of Real Estate. He continued to advise and sell real estate for the next 33 years with Sundance Realty and Coldwell Bankers Realty until 2012 when he became too ill to continue on. He was loved and highly respected by all who knew him.Survivors include his sons, Paul M. Bratton, Stephen D. Bratton and David B. Bratton; daughter, Suzanne Peloquin and her husband John; grandchildren, Jerry R. Jones Jr. and Victoria M. Perez; great-grandchildren, Jayson R. Jones and Skyler D. Bratton; and his brother-in-law, Robert G. Cox and his wife Jo.A special thank you is sent out to Paul's physicians: Drs. Dass, Gunn, Aubert, Reid, Fossum and Ross, along with the residents and staff of the 96th Medical Group at Eglin Air Force Base, Fla., who attended to him in his last days. Thanks are also extended to the nurses and staff of Emerald Coast Hospice, and his home provider, Liz, for the care and comfort they have given him along his journey. He will be forever in our hearts and eternally missed.There will be a memorial service at 1 p.m., on Friday, May 30, 2014, at Heritage Gardens Funeral Home.
