HANNA, Paul J. II, 62, of Tampa, went to be with his Lord Thursday, July 22,2010. He was born July 28, 1947, in New York City, N.Y., and graduated from Dickinson College with a degree in political science. Paul was a banker for many years and moved to Tampa in 1994, from Pennsylvania as the chief executive officer of SouthTrust Asset Management of Florida. Next, he became the head of SunTrust' s Tampa Bay Wealth Management Division and later, joined AmSouth Bank, where he handled trust and wealth management for the Tampa and Sarasota offices. Paul was past president of the Florida Bankers Association-Trust Division. In 2005, Paul became an organ donor recipient and got a second chance at life. He made the most of his opportunity by helping to raise enough donations to bring international evangelist Luis Palau' s festival to Tampa. Next, he was elected as the chairman of the board of the LifeLink Legacy Fund, a position that he held until his death. Paul was an organ donor and committed to helping other people get a second chance like he was given. Not finished, he became executive director of the St. Petersburg College Foundation and a member of the President' s Cabinet. Paul was a tireless contributor to numerous civic, cultural and philanthropic organizations. He was a board member of the Community Foundation of Tampa Bay, the Tampa Museum of Art, The Florida Orchestra, the Museum of Science of Industry, and past president of the American Cancer Society. He was the past president of the Tampa Club and long time member of the Palma Ceia Golf and Country Club. Paul possessed a wonderful dry wit and enjoyed sports and music. He loved his family and leaves behind his beloved wife, Sandra Hanna; and his five daughters, Chris Mark (Sean), Courtney Micklewright (Scott), Heather Hanna, Kimberly Hanna and Jourdan Hanna; brother, Lee (Mindy); and grandchildren, Colin Micklewright and Liam Mark. He was predeceased by his father, Paul J. Hanna; and his mother, Grace Hanna. Swann Ave., Tampa, Florida 33606. The family will have a gathering 5-7 p.m. Sunday, July 25, 2010, at Blount & Curry Funeral Home, 605 S. MacDill Avenue, Tampa.
