Patricia W. Whitaker, 73, Bradenton, died March 21, 2003. She was born Feb. 4, 1930, in New York City and came to Bradenton 17 years ago from Boca Raton. She retired as a registered nurse and worked at Good Samaritan Hospital, West Palm Beach. She also did volunteer work for several hospitals over the years. She was a member of the Anna Maria Island Power Squadron, Palma Sola Bay Yacht Club and the South Florida Museum in Bradenton. She received bachelor's degrees in music and math from Barnard College in New York. She was an Episcopalian. Survivors include a daughter, Amanda W. Lough of Columbia, S.C.; a son, Caleb C. of Phoenix; and three grandchildren. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. today, with a service to follow at 11 a.m., at Shannon Funeral Home, Westview Chapel.
