Anderson, Patricia M.March 10, 1939 - Aug. 18, 2008Patricia M. Anderson, 69, Sarasota, died Aug. 18, 2008.Services begin at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Sarasota. Jennings Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Patricia M. Anderson was born in Elizabeth, N.J., and was the loving daughter of Stephen and Marie Marsh. She leaves her devoted husband, David, the love of her life of 48 years; two sons, Thomas (Janet) and Robert (Jill); and four grandchildren she treasured, Jacob, Shealan, Shamus and Gentry. She also leaves behind her brother, James (Mary Ellen) Marsh.Pat fought a courageous battle with a serious illness for 5 1/2 years, living life to the fullest. Throughout this period she still loved to travel, taking trips to New England, the Caribbean and Alaska. Pat was a graduate of St. Mary's High School, Elizabeth, class of 1957. Her business career began with Englehardt Industries and Esso Standard Oil Company of Elizabeth. She later became a successful real estate agent in Morris County, N.J., as well as Fairfield County, Conn. earning the designation of GRI (Graduate Realtor Institute) and CRS (Certified Residential Specialist). In 1983, Pat relocated to Kingwood, Texas, with David. There she co-owned a retail shop, Country Friends, in Westfield, Texas. Then in 1986, Pat opened an antique business called Village Peddler and participated in antique shows throughout Texas. In 1993, Pat and her husband relocated to Venice and then to Sarasota, opening an antique business under the name of Anderson's Antiques. She traveled many miles looking for unusual and unique antiques for her customers. Pat was a member of the Retired Exxon Members of Jersey Inc. and Exxon Mobile Suncoast Retiree Club Inc.This remarkable lady will be forever missed by her devoted family and friends. The family would like to express heartfelt thanks for the excellent care received from her doctors and nurses and the extraordinary care from Sarasota Memorial Hospital and TideWell Hospice House. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to TideWell Hospice and Palliative Care, 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, FL 34238.
