Patricia H. Horton Otter Lake Patricia H. Horton, 83, passed peacefully while surrounded by her children at St. Elizabeths Hospital on Monday, August 16, 2010. Pat was born in Utica, daughter of George M. and Ellen (Byrnes) Penree. She attended St. Patricks Catholic School until 8th grade and then Utica Free Academy. On September 22, 1944, she was united in marriage with Guy E. Horton at St. Patricks Church in Utica. The couple settled in Utica/Deerfield until 1968 when they moved to Otter Lake, where they owned and operated the Four Seasons Inn. In 1978, the restaurant was closed and changed into her home and ceramics shop, a hobby she loved. Patricia was a member of St. Mary of the Snows Church in Otter Lake, where she served as Trustee, Eucharistic Minister and Lector. She was also a member of the Catholic Womens Club and Liturgy Committee. In 1974, she founded the Otter Lake Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and was active until her passing. Patricia was predeceased by Guy, her husband of 62 years; her daughter, Phyllis and Mike Hiscox; four brothers; and two sisters. She is survived by Sue and Tom Abrial, Linda and Ray Plunkett, Heidi and Dan Abrial, and special daughter, Nancy Horton; four grandchildren, Jeff Abrial and girlfriend, Danielle, Heather Plunkett and fianc, William, Sarah Abrial and husband, Ryan; and two great-grandchildren, Mickayla and Lauren Abrial. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, August 20, 2010, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary of the Snows Church in Otter Lake. Calling hours are Thursday from 4-8 p.m. at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc., 143 Schuyler Street, Boonville. Interment will be at White Lake Cemetery in Woodgate following the mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Otter Lake Fire Department or the Old Forge Ambulance Fund. Patricia H. Horton
