Norma Jean (Weber) Nelsonof Union CenterNorma Jean (Weber) Nelson, 78, of Union Center, died as a result of an automobile accident in DeLand, Fla., Friday, January 14, 2005. She was predeceased by her parents, Harold and Nora Weber; a sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Leonard Bullock. She is survived by her beloved husband of 60 years, Donald A. Nelson, Union Center; one brother and sister-in-law, H. Richard and Esther Weber, Endicott; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Barbara and Russell Avery, Myrtle Beach, S.C.; Marlene Weber, Endicott; several nieces, nephews, cousins, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was a member of Union Center United Methodist Church and attended Maine Federated Church. She was former co-owner of Nelson's Grocery Store in Union Center. She was a postal carrier for the US Postal Service, a charter member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Maine Chapter, No. 599, a member of WIBC Bowling Association and a member of its 600 Club. Norma and Don bowled in many mixed bowling leagues. She was treasurer of Nanticoke Valley Cemetery for many years. She was a loving and caring lady, who will be sorely missed, by all who knew and loved her.Funeral and Interment Services will be held Saturday 11 a.m. from the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main St., Endicott, with the Reverends Brown Naik and Steve Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Nanticoke Valley Cemetery, Union Center. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home, Friday from 2-4 and evening 7-9 p.m. The Order of the Eastern Star Chapter No. 599 will conduct an Eastern Star Service Friday at 8:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in her memory may be made to Union Center United Methodist Church, 128 Maple Drive, Endicott, N.Y. 13760, or Maine Federated Church, 2615 Main Street, Maine, N.Y. 13802.
