Norma Faye Johnson, 71, Brownstown, passed away at 8:27 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2010, at Hoosier Christian Village, Brownstown.Mrs. Johnson was employed as a live-in home health aide for 15 years, and also owned and operated two restaurants. She had also been employed at the U.S. Postal Service in Nashville, Tenn., and as a bus driver for Developmental Services in Paoli. She loved to travel and take care of her family and was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Seymour.Born Jan. 25, 1938, in Bardstown, Ky., she was the daughter of Elmer and Willie Mae Fields Asher, both of whom preceded her in death. She married Lavern Trinkle in 1967, and he preceded her in death. She then married James Gilbert Johnson in 1980 in Seymour.Survivors include one daughter, Rhea Dawn (Stephen) Speckner, Seymour; two granddaughters, Sherry Elaine Ritchie, Westville, and Jessica Elaine Speckner, Seymour; two great-granddaughters, Ashley Dawn Blankenship and Emily Ann Book, both of Westville; four sisters, Glenna McCartin, Hudson, Fla., Berniece Asher, Goshen, Florine Hall, Seymour, and Carol Barnes, Panama City, Fla.; one brother, Thomas Asher, Austin; and many nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Elaine Book; a sister, Cornealia Coomes; and two brothers, Elmer Asher Jr. and Andrew Asher.The Rev. Jeffrey Stuckwisch will conduct funeral services at 11 a.m. Friday at Zion Lutheran Church. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery, Seymour. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Burkholder Funeral Chapel, Seymour, and from 9:30 a.m. until time of service Friday at the church.Memorials may be given to the family.www.burkholderfuneralchapel.com
