FOWLER, NELLIE CONSTANCE - Age 85 of Quispamsis, widow of Roswell E. Fowler died suddenly April 4, 2006 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Lura (Lackie) and John Bell. She graduated from the Hampton Consolidated School and continued her education in nursing at Chipman Memorial Hospital in St. Stephen, NB. She practiced nursing in various hospitals, including St. Joseph's Hospital and Rocmaura Nursing Home where she retired from in 1985. She was a longstanding member of St. Augustine's Anglican Church, Quispamsis, where she served as secretary of the A.C.W. She loved knitting, quilting and crocheting, especially for her family. She enjoyed many years of trailering and belonged to the Fundy Drifters Trailer Club, Saint John. She was a volunteer for the St. John Ambulance, Quispamsis. She is survived by three daughters: Arlene MacKenzie (Bob) of Quispamsis, Marilyn J. Whelan (Walter) of Ontario, Dale F. Plume (Paul) of Hampton; one son Terry W. (Elaine) of French Village; and one sister-in-law, Louise Fowler of Saint John; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Patricia Fowler and Dorothy Bell and one brother Joe Bell. Resting at Reid's Funeral Home (832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, with visiting Thursday, 7-9pm and Friday, 2-4pm and 7-9pm. The funeral will be held Saturday, at St. Augustine's Church, Quispamsis, with Rev. John Tremblay officiating. Interment in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Smithtown. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the charity of the donor's choice.
