ANNISTON — Funeral service for Mrs. Julia Bennette Dunn Beard, 76, will be Thursday, December 24, 2009, at 12 p.m. at Haven Untied Methodist Church with the Rev. Curtis Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the Anniston Memorial Gardens with Ervin Funeral Chapel directing. Public visitation will commence today from noon until 8:30 p.m. with the family will receiving friends at tomorrow at 11:00 am at the church. Mrs. Beard died Saturday, December 19, 2009, at RMC. Survivors include a daughter, Sygrid Y. Beard, of Alexandria; a son, Ronald Beard, of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; a grandson, Ryan Beard and a great-grandson, Kaleb Beard, of Houston, Texas; a sister, Geraldine (Jimmie) Floyd, of Monroe, Conn.; two sisters-in-law, Minnie Dunn, of Detroit, Michigan and Hiawatha Miller Dunn, of Birmingham; two aunts, Eunice Dunn, of Bessemer and Emma Lois Morris, of Anniston; nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wyatt Napoleon and Gustavia P. Dunn; her husband, Coleman Beard; two brothers, Charles M. Dunn and Lowell N. Dunn; two sisters, Bobbie Jean Hill and Charlsia Howell. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Haven United Methodist Church Scholarship Fund.
