MUNFORD - Mrs. Ella Elizabeth Sims Nelson, 79, died Sunday, May 9, 2010 at her residence in Munford. She was born in Chepultepec, Blount County, Ala., and lived most of her life in Munford where she graduated from Munford High School in 1949. She worked in the local textile industry and farmed. She was preceded in death by daughters, Susan Gail Nelson and Sheryl Lynn Nelson; her parents, Albert Henry Sims and Doxie Harrell Sims Prahl Thoms; and brothers, Clifford Lindsay Sims (Ramona) and Fred Marvin Sims (Virginia). Survivors are her husband, Bennie F. "Pete" Nelson of Munford; daughters, Robin J. Nelson (Dave Wolford, dec.) and Sharron N. Camp (Jeff) of Munford; sister, Annie Ruth Sims Hiett (Wade, dec.) of Columbus, Miss.; brothers, Albert Junior Sims (Hester) of Wedowee, Jay Herschel Sims (Mary) of Alexandria, and George F. Sims (Kathleen) of Oxford; and grandsons, Andrew Nelson Wolford and Caleb C. Camp of Munford. Mrs. Nelson will be interred at Pine Hill Mausoleum at a later date.
