Michael "Mike" G. Davis, lifetime resident of Syracuse, passed away Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at the age of 68--starting his journey to The Creator. He was a wonderful and special son, brother, uncle and friend. He will be terribly missed by all. Mike was an enrolled member of the St. Regis Mohawk Tribe at Akwesasne, New York. He retired from the Syracuse School District; and worked construction for most of his life with Local Union 433. Mike avidly enjoyed music, reading, the NY Yankees and SU Basketball; but he mostly loved his family and lifelong friends. Mike was predeceased by his parents, Helen and Daniel Davis; brothers, Daniel, Robert and Bernard; and sisters, Barbara and Eleanor . He is survived by his sister, Carol G. (Richard) Petit of Tully; brother, William B. Davis of Liverpool; brother, James D. (Bonnie) Davis of Syracuse; and many nieces and nephews, family and friends. There are no calling hours. A memorial service in Mike's honor will be held at a later date. Donations or contributions may be made to the Food Bank of Central New York. Mike's family would like to thank Upstate University Hospital and the staff of 6A 6106-F, for their wonderful care for Mike, and for their kindness towards our family.
