Melissa Harrington 1961 - 2012 BENNINGTON Melissa A. Harrington, 51, of Depot Street, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, Feb. 9, 2012, at her home. Melissa was born in Bennington on Jan. 6, 1961, the daughter of Floyd J. Amidon, Jr. and Marie Jones and received her education in Hoosick Falls schools. Melissa worked as a nurse's aide for many years as a private duty nurse and in area nursing homes. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, making candles, listening to classic rock and country music and loved camping. Melissa cherished spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. Melissa is survived by her mother, Marie Amidon of Bennington; her children, Jessica Harrington and her husband, Robert Greene, of Shaftsbury, John Brown and his significant other, April Stevens, of West Hoosick, N.Y., Jason Brown and his significant other, Denise Brown, and Jared Harrington and his significant other, Harley Reynolds of Bennington; her brothers, Floyd Amidon and Dale Amidon and his wife, Nannette, of Bennington, and Ricky Amidon of Bellow Falls; her sister, Susan Rebideau; her grandchildren, AJ, Eli, Jason, Hannah, Austin, Keagan, Robert and Gavin, and nieces, nephews and cousins. Her husband, Gary F. Harrington, whom she married May 21, 1988, died March 31, 1997. FUNERAL NOTICE: Graveside funeral services for Melissa will be held Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2012, at 1 p.m. at White Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2012, from 4 to 6 p.m. at HANSON-WALBRIDGE FUNERAL HOME, 213 West Main Street.
