Funeral for Mary Frances Gardiner, 81, of Decatur will be Tuesday, April 5, 2005, at 11 a.m. at Westminster Presbyterian Church with the Rev. David Rollins officiating and Ridout’s Brown-Service Funeral Home directing. Graveside service will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens at 2 p.m. Visitation will be Tuesday from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the church. Mrs. Gardiner died Saturday, April 2, 2005, at Huntsville Hospital. She was born May 30, 1923, in Oxford, Miss., to David Monroe Wright and Amy Flurry Wright. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church for 45 years, and was on the Board of Directors of Presbyterian Towers.Survivors include two sons, David B. Gardiner III of Auburn, and John W. Gardiner and wife Kathy, of Belleville, Ill.; one daughter, Mary Melendez and husband S.M., of Birmingham; one sister, Amy Louise Ricks and husband Earl, of Huntsville; grandchildren, Amy and Woody Gardiner of Belleville, and Andrew Mills of Birmingham; and five nephews, Henry, David, and Timothy Ricks, and Herbert and Richard Wiggins. Memorials may be made to the Presbyterian Children’s Home.
