FALLON _ Mary. Passed away peacefully on July 17, 2002 at 7:20 pm at Burnaby General Hospital after a short stay. Born in Saskatchewan on August 18, 1913, Mary resided in East Vancouver for 44 years since moving here from Calgary with her family in 1958. Predeceased by her husband Norman in 1971 and first son Gerald Baker in 1983, she lived a relatively independent life until health problems prompted a move to Burnaby where she resided under the constant care of her second son, Doug Baker. She was admitted to Burnaby Hospital just 9 days before her passing. Mary relished her independence with a passion, and in fact was driving her 1973 Mercury Comet up until 2 years ago. Throughout her life she pursued many interests such as ceramics, music (mandolin), curling, square dancing, and gardening. She was a professional seamstress who's specialty was custom draperies. Leaving to mourn are sister, Irene, (Saskatchewan); niece, Ollie (Lyall), Squamish; brother Steve (Bertha), Smithers; son, Doug (Brenda), Burnaby and many other relatives too numerous to mention. We have lost a "Free Spirit" who "Did it her way" and she will be lovingly remembered. Special thanks to Home Care's Sharon Douglas and nurses staff of Burnaby Hospital 2c for all their gentle help. Arrangements by First Memorial. Cremation. No service by request. Rest easy Mom.
