Mary Ella NewberryJune 7, 1916 ~ March 22, 2014Mary Ella passed away peacefully at her residence in Port Alberni. She was born and raised on a ranch in the Black Hills of South Dakota, which is situated in the heart of Custer State Park. She and Orthelo immigrated to Canada as a young couple.She was predeceased by her husband Orthelo, two sons, Marvin and Dale, and a grandson Steven. She is survived by her son, Norman (Elaine) and (daughter-in-law Vi). Grandchildren, Dianne (Richard), Brenda (Bill), Myrna (Ross), Shawn (Greg), Rick (Cheri), Valerie (Boyd), (Steven's wife Crystal,(Lori and John, 26 great grandchildren and 26 great great grandchildren (hence the name "Grandma GG").In celebration of her life, a memorial tea will be held at the Alberni Golf Club on Wednesday, April 2, 2014, from 3pm-4pm.
