CLIFTON PARK Mary E. Holmes Carpenter, 97, of Schuyler Ridge HC Facility of Clifton Park and formerly of Cohoes, died Thursday, February 13, 2003 at St. Mary's Hospital, Troy, N.Y. embraced by her loving family. Born in Troy, she was the daughter of the late William and Anna Landrigan Holmes and wife of the late Joseph G. Carpenter. She was a communicant of St. Bernard's Parish in Cohoes and retired after 30 years of service as a seamstress with the Troy District Shirt Co. Prior to that she was employed with Cluett Peabody of Troy. Mary is survived by her devoted children, Patricia Mahar of Clifton Park, Johanna O'Neil of Silver Springs, Md., Robert T. Carpenter of Cohoes and P. Stephen Carpenter of North Troy, N.Y. She was predeceased by her sons, Matthew and Richard (Champ) Carpenter. Also surviving are several cherished grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Funeral from the Fitzgerald Funeral Home Ltd., 105 Vliet Blvd., Cohoes, Monday morning at 10:00. A Mass of Christian Burial will be in St. Bernard Church at 10:30. Interment, Oakwood Cemetery, Troy, N.Y. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home Sunday 4-8 p.m.
