SMITH Martha Phillips Smith, 85 passed away March 14, 2009 after an extended illness. She was born in Wayne County, Mississippi on June 28, 1923 to the late Lige and Nolie Williams. She was preceded in death by her husbands George R. Phillips in 1983 and Milton L. Smith in 2001, seven siblings, three children Sandra Phillips, Josephine Mickler, and Howard Phillips and one grandchild Phil Harris. She is survived by her 5 children Martha "Ann" (Jon) Irwin of Hiawassee, GA, Don (Shirley) Smith of Kings Mt., NC, Betty (Chris) Ellis of Jacksonville, FL, Calvin Phillips of Neptune Bch., FL, and Bill Phillips of Warrenton, GA, 19 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held 5 to 8 P.M., Tuesday at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M., Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will follow in H. Warren Smith Cemetery.
