Marta Jackson-Maduro, 84, died peacefully, September 23, 2014 at the Orange Park, Florida Haven Hospice facility. Ms. Jackson was born in Havana, Cuba on June 10, 1930. Dearly missed and well known to thousands of dance students locally, nationally and internationally, Ms. Jackson was a recognized, celebrated and accomplished classical ballet instructor, having taught for over 50 years of her life. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Maduro; brother, Raimundo Dante; son, Eddie Jackson, and her daughter–in-law, Emily Jackson.She is survived by her granddaughter, Emily Austin Jackson; grandson, Robert Eddie Jackson; great grandsons, Edison Axle Aiken and Grant Silas Ritcherson; and cousins, Dalia Herrero-Brock, Jorge Herrero-Dante, Maria Gomez and Gloria Ponjuan-Dante.A "Celebration of Life" service will take place October 11, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at the Aaron and Burney Bivens Funeral Home, 529 Kingsley Avenue Orange Park, FL 32073, (904) 264-1233, with a visitation from 2:00 p.m. until the hour of service, also at the funeral home.In lieu of flowers, checks made to Ernest Boada to sustain the legacy of Marta Jackson will be received, on site, at her remembrance celebration.
