JOHNSON _ Margaret Mary (nee Wood), born in Pense, Saskatchewan on March 13th, 1922, passed away January 30th, 2003 after a brief illness, surrounded by her loving family. She will be sadly missed and always loved by her husband of 59 years, Ken; her daughters, Pat (Kerry) Mulhall and Jan (Jim) Wood; grandchildren, Alysa (Don) Fairchild, Ryan Fairchild, Levi Wood, and Paul Wood; brother John (Lois) Wood; sister Evelyn Brown; sister-in-law Blanche Johnson; Dorothy Thom and Edna Wilson and numerous other caring relatives and friends. Margaret was a longtime resident of West Vancouver and was proud to be a volunteer with the local branch of "Meals on Wheels". She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who dedicated her life to her family. She loved to read, garden, do her daily crossword puzzle and play canasta or "threes to thirteens". She was a classy lady with a great sense of humour and keen interest in the news of the day, always willing to engage in lively discussions, especially about politics! In recent weeks she was learning how to use a computer for the first time. Margaret was an adored "Granny" who always left the door open, a light on and the cookie jar full! Her quiet strength, dignity, and support were an inspiration to all who knew her. A special thanks to, Dr. Leon Bard and the staff of 2 West at Lions Gate Hospital for their wonderful care and compassion. A private family remembrance will be held in Margaret's honour.
