ALSTEAD, N.H. -- Linda Jean Taylor, 47, of Mechanic Street in Alstead died Saturday, May 24, 2003, at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center after a short illness.She was born in Dover on Dec. 31, 1955, the daughter of Donald and Kathryn (Benware) Bascom.Mrs. Taylor was a 1974 graduate of Fall Mountain High School and went on to graduate from Holliston Junior College in 1976. She worked at Audio Accessories in Marlow for 21 years. In her youth, she was very active in the Colts & Fillies 4-H and Helping Hands 4-H in Alstead, and was also active in the Girl Scouts.She enjoyed horseback riding, hiking and all outdoor activities. She was a very artistic and creative person who loved her pets and all animals.On Aug. 28, 1977, she married Glenn Fiske Taylor in Alstead, who survives.She is also survived by her parents; four sisters, Donna L. Lund of Alstead, Kathryn J. Rich of Round Rock, Texas, Virginia R. Newell of Palm Bay, Fla., and Margaret E. Ranta of Keene; four aunts; two uncles; three nieces; and 10 nephews.Calling hours will be held Thursday, May 29, from 7 to 9 p.m. with funeral services at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 30, at Fenton & Hennessey Funeral Home in Bellows Falls, Vt.Memorial donations may be made to the American Lung Association of New Hampshire, 456 Beech St., Manchester, N.H. 03103.
