Lillian Howland Owen, 94, died July 23, 2012, at her home. She was born in New York, and lived in Hobe Sound for 23 years, coming from St. Paul, Minn. She was a descendant of Henry Howland, one of the original members of the Plymouth Colony in Massachusetts. She served as vice president and treasurer of Bob Owen Associates. She was a member of the House of Hope Presbyterian Church and the Women's College in St. Paul. She was a member of Peace Presbyterian Church in Stuart and was a founding member of the Stuart Corinthian Yacht Club. Survivors include her husband, Robert Louis Owen Sr.; daughter, Margaret Hier; sister, Marion Staebel; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Robert Louis Owen Jr.; sister, Leona Whaley; and brother, Milton Howland. Memorial contributions may be made to the Port Salerno Elementary School, 3260 S.E.
