Waterloo/Staten Island - Lillian "Lily" Harvey, 77, of 21 Keli Drive, died Sunday (Dec. 27, 2009) at Geneva General Hospital. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday (Dec. 31) at Covert Funeral Home, 7199 Main St., Ovid. Funeral services and burial will be held later in the week on Staten Island. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider a donation in Lillian's memory to the Beverly Animal Shelter, 50 E. River Road, Waterloo 13165. Lillian was born Aug. 17, 1932, in Brooklyn, the daughter of the late Holger and Selma (Hagman) Andersen. She was a compassionate caregiver all of her life and spent more than 25 years working as a licensed practical nurse at Eger Health Center on Staten Island. She and her husband wintered at Briny Breezes, Fla., for many years. She moved to the Waterloo area in 2006, after having been a resident of Staten Island since 1961. She made many friends through her artistic endeavors, most specifically painting. She had a host of hobbies, all of which expressed her artistic talents. Lillian had an all-encompassing heart that gave her the ability and strength to take care of her family and friends. She is survived by her children, Barbara A. (Linda Beck) Rosenblum of Geneva, Nancy E. (Ralph) Ferrara of Great Kills, Staten Island, and Steven J. (Diane) Harvey of Parlin, N.J.; a granddaughter, Allie Harvey; a son-in-law, Seth (Trudy) Rosenblum of Jay, Essex County; a nephew, Joseph (Francine) Devine of Lake Ariel, Pa.; a niece, Sharon Murray of Pensacola, Fla.; and her beloved pet, Laci. Lillian was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph A. Harvey, in 2007; and by a brother, Leonard Andersen.
