MAYER, Leona Marie (Roy) In loving memory of Leona Marie (Roy) Mayer, 74 years, who passed away Thursday afternoon, December 2nd, 1999 at the Sudbury Regional Hospital - Memorial Site. Born in Noelville, she married Ven in 1949 in Windsor. Leona was a health care provider at Extendicare Falconbridge for 14 years retiring in 1989. She was Roman Catholic by faith. Leona was a woman of great beauty both inside and out. She was an inspiration to all who knew her, and lived her life as a gift for others filling this world with grace and kindness. Although her physical body has been taken, her spirit and unconditional love will live in the hearts of her family and friends. She will always remain an "ideal" for her family to strive toward, a person who understood sharing and love. Beloved wife of Venance "Ven" Mayer of Sudbury. Loving mother of Wayne (wife Lee) of Sudbury, Curtis (wife Yvette) and Roxanne Mayer Varcoe (husband Larry) both of Wahnapitae and Evelyn (husband Jacques Lefebvre) of Beaudry, Quebec. Loving grandmother of Emily, Geneviève, Eric, Natalie, Melanie, Yanik and Zackery. Dear daughter of the late William and Phoebe Roy both predeceased. Dear step-daughter of Barney Weight of Sudbury. Dear sister of Aimé (wife Rita) of South Rockwood, Michigan, Viny (husband Roland Mayer), Gilbert (wife Hélène), Lorraine (husband Don Gilbeault) and Stella all of Noelville, Elsie (husband Gilbert Seguin) and Alex (wife Gloria) both of Alban, Leo (wife Claire) of Ouelette, Gerard (wife Verna) of Britt, Alice Thibeault (friend Eugene Smith) of Farmington Hills, Michigan, Roland (wife Mary) of Val Caron and the late Anna Villeneuve and Gertrude Crumb both predeceased. Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Resting at the LOUGHEED FUNERAL HOME, 252 Regent St. at Hazel St. Funeral Mass in La Toussaint Church, 1519 Bellevue Ave, Saturday, December 4th, 1999 at 2:30 p.m. Cremation at the Parklawn Crematorium.
