IRELAND, Kenneth Herbert January 4, 1929 - June 15, 2003 On June 15, 2003 Ken Ireland, age 74, passed away at the Fort Saskatchewan General Hospital. Ken was born in Melville, Saskatchewan on January 4, 1929. He married Doris in 1950 and worked on the railroad and farmed in Melville for 24 years. They moved to Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta in 1970 and in 1976 bought their acreage. He is survived by his wife Doris of 53 years, and his children Les (Kathy) of Fort Sask., AB, Kevin of Fort Sask., AB, Keith of Black Falls, AB, Lyle of Creston, BC, Sherri (Doug) of Lamont, AB and Lynne (Ray) of Lamont, AB. Ken had 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. His "extended family" included The Scotford Hutterite Colony. Ken is survived by 6 of his 15 siblings, Joan Archer of Branford, ON, Connie Fry of Saskatoon, SK, Edith Hahn of Melville, SK, Barbara Schick of Winnipeg, MB, Florence Lightfoot of Chilliwack, BC and Neil Ireland of Roundhill, AB. Donations in Ken's memory may be made to the Alberta Cross Cancer Institute, 11560 University Ave, Edmonton, Alberta At Ken's request, a private service for the family will be held at a later date.
