Julia Rita Keefe, formerly of North Haven, died in Winter Haven, Fla., on Oct. 16, 2010.Born Jan. 6, 1917, in West Haven, she was a daughter of the late Alice Slater and David John Keefe.Miss Keefe taught kindergarten at Noble School in West Haven for 37 years before her retirement to her home in North Haven where she lived with family.She is survived by her only relatives, a niece, Patricia Keefe, together with her husband, John Christoforo, M.D., and their children, David (Trish), Michael (Linda), Jack and Alice (Todd) Stoeffler. She is also survived by 9 grandnieces and grandnephews.Julia was predeceased by two sisters, Alice V. Keefe and Mary S. Culver, both of North Haven.Profoundly religious, "Jules" never missed daily Mass until prohibited by infirmity very late in life.A funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, Dec. 21, at 10 a.m. in the Church of St. Therese, North Haven. Internment will be at All Saints Cemetery, North Haven.
