LAURIDSEN, JOYCE - The death of Joyce I. Lauridsen, 63, of Aroostook, wife of Ray K. Lauridsen, occurred at the Toronto General Hospital on October 27, 2004. Born in Perth-Andover on October 4, 1941, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Doris (Alexander) MacDonald. She is survived by husband Ray; daughter Wendy Nason of Moncton, N.B.; three sons Michael of Roanoke Virginia, Mark of Fredericton, N.B., and Paul of Sussex, N.B.; ten grand-children; brother Alton MacDonald of Perth-Andover N.B.; sister Judy Barr of Rowena, N.B.; Aunt Elizabeth Chenier of Perth-Andover, N.B.; Uncle Ivan Alexander of Rusagonis; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, brothers Jon and Ivan MacDonald, and sister Barbara Argraves. She received her early education in Perth-Andover, graduating from S.V.R.H.S. in 1959. She furthered her education by attending Fredericton Teachers college and eventually obtaining her Education Degree. On July 22, 1961 she wedded Ray K. Lauridsen. They spent most of their married life in Aroostook where she enjoyed 30 years of employment as a teacher at Aroostook Elementary school. Mrs. Lauridsen was an active member of the community. She was a member of the Aroostook Baptist Church, served as board member of the Victoria Glen Manor and volunteered in numerous capacities. Funeral service was held at the Aroostook Baptist Church, on November 1, conducted by Pastor Michael Palmer. Hymn "Sweet Hour of Prayer" was sung by long time friend Paul Hanscome. Uncle Ivan Alexander shared special memories and read scripture. The eulogy was given by daughter Wendy Nason. Pallbearers were nephews Darren MacDonald, Troy Barr, Adam Argraves and Jason MacDonald, and close friends Allan Everett and Joe Everett. Niece Tammy MacDonald and friends Carolyn Dixon, Vickie Demmings, and Vickie Everett carried flowers. Burial was in the Larlee Creek Cemetery. A reception followed at the Aroostook Elementary school.
