MCKENNA, JOHN FRANCIS 79, passed away Saturday, March 25, 2006 at Primacy Rehabilitation and Hospice Care, Memphis, TN. He was born January 13, 1927 in Washington D.C., the son of Thomas Martin McKenna and Mary (Emma Bresnahan) McKenna. He graduated from St. Paul's Academy and joined the U.S. Marine Corps in 1945 serving two years. He married Helen T. Finch in 1950. He was a police officer with the number 13 Metropolitan Police Department for eight years and thereafter became a Special Agent and Criminal Investigator with the U.S. Treasury Department, Office of Inspection IRS. After 32 years of dedicated service in the Washington, D.C., Miami, Memphis and Atlanta offices, John retired having attained the position of Assistant Executive Chief Inspector of the Southeast Region and began a successful real estate business for 15 years in the Stone Mountain, GA area. In 1993 he and wife Sherry relocated to Altamonte Springs and later moved to Hollywood, FL and Memphis, TN. He was predeceased by brothers, Robert, Edward and Joseph McKenna. He is survived by brothers, James, Thomas and Gerard (Jerry) and his sister, Margaret; along with his six children, Kathleen Bond, John McKenna Jr., Joanne Fay, Timothy McKenna, Mary Babich and Patricia Gluck; his stepson, Steven Scheer; along with grandchildren, Traci, Brandon and Brent Bond, Erin Martin and Bridgete McKenna, Steve and Richard Babich, Elle Gluck; great-grandchild, Pia Martin; and a host of nieces and nephews. Visitation is Thursday at Baldwin-Fairchild Funeral Home, Altamonte Springs and Catholic Funeral Mass Friday, 10AM, at St. Margaret Mary's, Winter Park.
