John Corkum Jr., 70 WEAVERVILLE, N.C. -- John Burton 'Buddy' Corkum Jr., 70, passed away June 15, 2011. He was born to the late John Burton Corkum Jr. and Mildred Avis Nelson Corkum in Portland on July 19, 1940. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Sharon Collins and Colleen Dorsey. He was in the U.S. Marine Corp. and worked for Thermal Fisher for 23 years. John is survived by his son, John Marcus Corkum and wife Michelle of Henderson, N.C., daughter, Brenda Leigh Morris and husband Calvin of Weaverville, N.C.; brother, Mike Corkum of Florida, sister, Justina Eraso and husband Ben; and five grandchildren. 'We all love you and miss you so much, but have comfort in knowing that your spirit is flying with the eagles that you loved so much.' A memorial service will be held in Maine.
