February 16, 2003 Our beloved husband, father, son, brother, and uncle departed this life on Sunday, February 16, 2003, after an extended illness at home. Survived by his wife, JoAnn Williams; two children, Jamie Ann Williams, John A.Williams II, all of Syracuse; twobrothers, Christopher Haskins of Syracuse, Adon Allen Jr. of Fayetteville; one sister, Toni Wagner of Clay; his parents, Dorris J. Holmes of Syracuse and John H. Williams of Messhopan, PA, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. John began his career with the City of Syracuse, CNY Works Employment and Training Agency in 1974 and served as Employment Services Specialist, Employment Services Specialist Supervisor and Retired as One-Stop Career Center Director, December 31, 2002. John also served on the New York State Employment and Training Council, E.O.C. Advisory Board, EDZ/Employment Zone, National Association of Employment Professionals, Dr. King School Advisory Board and Ward Person for the Democratic Committee. John will be missed deeply by many, as he has touched so many lives with his tender love, and sincere kindness. He embodied the definition of role model in all aspects, always the consummate husband, father, son, brother, and uncle. He epitomized the true meaning of friend. There will be an immense void felt by all of us whose lives he touched, but his memory will always be with us. Although he has physically departed from us, the spirit in which he possessed will continue to bless us all with his love. We will always love you, Tico. Funeral services 11:00am Saturday in New Testament Missionary Baptist Church, 1121 S. Salina St., The Rev. Sherman Cummings will officiate. Burial Woodlawn Cemetery, 800 Grant Blvd. Friends may call from 5 to 7 pm Friday at Whelan Bros. Funeral Home, 3700 W.
