A native of Texas, Joan moved from Miami to Tallahassee in the early 1960's. She graduated from the Bellevue School of Nursing in New York, and retired as an ER Nurse from Capital Regional Medical Center in 2007 where she was currently working part-time. Joan had a passion for gardening and her two beloved dogs. She is survived by one son, Brett C. Anderson(Pauline); and three grandchildren, Jamie; Dustin; and Tucker Anderson all of Havana. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Herbert C. Anderson in 1984; and one son, Brian K. Anderson in 2005.A reception of family and friends will be held from 5:00pm-7:00pm on Friday, June 24, at Bevis Funeral Home(850.385.2193). The family would like to thank the staff of Capital Regional Medical Center and Select Specialty Hospital for their diligent care and support.
