Joan Diane Williams, 74, died April 12, 2009, at the Harbor Place in Port St. Lucie. She was born in Niagara Falls, N.Y., and moved to Port St. Lucie in 1992, coming from North Carolina. Before retirement, she was a telephone operator for New York Bell in Niagara Falls for six years. Survivors include her daughters, Jill Staggs and Jodi Rasmussen, both of Port St. Lucie; son, John Williams II of Port St. Lucie; sister, Lois Brown of Port St. Lucie; brother, Thomas Frederick of Macedon, N.Y.; and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Williams. Memorial contributions may be made to Treasure Coast Hospice, 1201 S.E. Indian St., Stuart, FL 34997. SERVICES: A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. April 16 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Port St. Lucie. Burial will follow at Fernhill Memorial Gardens in Stuart. Arrangements are by Aycock Funeral Home, Port St. Lucie.
