-> Lyons - Mrs. Jessie McSwain Carter, age 94 of 3104 Johnson Corner Road, died Friday, January 7, 2005 in the Meadows Regional Medical Center in Vidalia after an extended illness. She was a native of Toombs County, living her lifetime in the area, was a homemaker and attended Hardens Chapel United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence E. Carter and two sons, Paul and Charles Carter. Mrs. Carter is survived by one daughter, Eleanor C. Armstrong and her husband, Jack of Savannah; three sons, Hugh Carter and his wife, Betty of Brunswick and Billy and Curtis Carter both of Lyons, nine grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service for Mrs. Jessie McSwain Carter will be held Sunday, January 9th at 2:00 p.m. at the Hardens Chapel United Methodist Church with Reverend Bill Lee, Reverend Harold Tucker and Reverend Joe Phillips officiating. Interment will follow in Hardens Chapel Cemetery.
