TEWKSBURY - Jeanne C. (Gilgun) Harrington, 70, a Tewksbury resident who was active in the town's senior citizen organizations, died Thursday, Dec. 19, at the Speare Hospital in Plymouth, N.H. She was the wife of James J. Harrington, who died in 1992.She was born in Malden on Feb. 18, 1932, a daughter of the late James J. and Mary R. (Drummey) Gilgun. She graduated from the former Chevrus Catholic High School for girls in 1951. She resided in Malden most her life until moving to Tewksbury in 1995.Prior to residing in Tewksbury, Mrs. Harrington attended St. Joseph's Church and the Sacred Heart Church both in Malden. She later attended St. William's Parish in Tewksbury.Mrs. Harrington was an active member of the Tewksbury Golden Age Club and enjoyed the many social outings, dances and trips she attended with her many friends from the Tewksbury Senior Drop-In Center.She is survived by a daughter, Catherine J. Leonard and her husband Kevin F. Leonard of Tewksbury; three grandchildren, Erin K., Michelle A. and Patrick J. Leonard, all of Tewksbury. She also leaves her daughter-in-law, Barbara D. (Hillson) Harrington of Lowell; two sisters, Alice A. Lombardi of Malden and Margaret Townsend and her husband John of Falmouth; a brother, Charles Gilgun and his wife Agnes of San Diego; a sister-in-law, Ann Barry and her husband Jerry of Melrose; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.She was also the mother of the late John F. Harrington and sister of the late James, Edward and Francis Gilgun.
