Jean R. Miller, 79, Port Charlotte, died Jan. 29, 2005. She was born Oct. 6, 1925, in Garrett, Ind. She received a nursing degree from Rush-Presbyterian Hospital in Chicago. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Francis College in Joliet, Ill. She was a co-owner of Miller Pharmacy in Huntington, Ind., for 26 years, retiring in 1990. She worked at Coleman Hospital in Indianapolis and Huntington Memorial Hospital and Norwood Nursing Home in Huntington. She was a co-founder of Huntington Toastmistress Club and served as its first president. She was a member of Starlight Dance Club in Huntington, the Lamplighters Dance Club and the Gayla Dance Club. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Huntington. Survivors include a daughter, Deborah J. in Georgetown, Maine; sons Robert J. and Scott A., both of Huntington, Ind., and Jeffery P. of Philadelphia; a sister, Mary Lou Powell of Fort Wayne, Ind.; brothers Dr. James Schlosser of Crawfordsville, Ind., and Ned Schlosser of Auburn, Ind.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home in Huntington, Ind. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Trinity United Methodist Church. Entombment will be in Mount Hope Cemetery in Huntington. Memorial donations may be made to the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute, 12902 Magnolia Drive, Tampa, FL 33612.
