Jane Elizabeth Hart, a resident of the Mahopac and Carmel area since 1975, died Monday, January 19, 2004. She was 86. She was born in New York City on April 3, 1917, the daughter of Christian and Ella (Peters) Watt III. She was a registrar at Columbia University in Manhattan, retiring in 1976. She was a member of The Church of the Holy Communion in Mahopac. On April 28, 1940, she married Richard T. Hart in New York City. He died on November 19, 2002. She is survived by her son, Vincent C. Hart of Long Beach, NY; her daughters: Judy Holahan of Bardonia, NY and Jane Popp and her husband, Dr. Michael Popp of Mahopac; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Her sisters: Elma K. Watt and Lillian Cullinan died earlier. Visiting will be held on Thursday from 2-9 pm at Joseph J. Smith Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Friday at 1 pm at The Church of the Holy Communion in Mahopac. Interment will follow at Raymond Hill Cemetery in Carmel. JOSEPH J.
