James V. Carpenterof EndwellJames V. Carpenter, 82, of Endwell, passed away Sunday evening, April 30, 2006 at the Wilson Memorial Regional Medical Center. He was predeceased by his parents, James, Sr. and Florence Carpenter; also his wife of 50 years, Margaret (Peg) Bittler Carpenter. He is survived by four daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and James Vojtisek, Jr., Owego, Kathy and John Branca, Owego, Kim and Peter Vojtisek, Endicott, Kyle and Anthony Caprari, Candor; nine grandchildren, Brandon, James III and Stacey Vojtisek, Erin and Christopher Branca, Michael, Michele and Nicole Vojtisek and Michael Caprari. He is also survived by his brothers and their families, Willard Carpenter and Robert Carpenter, all of Fla.; a sister-in-law, Mary Lawry, Scranton, Pa.; a special friend, Mary Jane Holoska and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at Wilson Hospital North Tower 4 and Dr. Frank Floyd for their compassion and care. He was a Veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Air Force as a pilot and was a retired employee of IBM Endicott as an electrical engineer for 42 years.Funeral service will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Endwell United Methodist Church, 3301 Watson Blvd., Endwell. The Rev. Jose Valencia will officiate. Burial will be in Floral Park Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, Inc., 300 East Main St., Endicott, Friday from 5 until 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society, 31 Adams Ave., Endicott, N.Y. 13760 or to the Endwell United Methodist Church, 3301 Watson Blvd., Endwell, N.Y. or to the Lourdes Hospice Program, 4102 Old Vestal Rd., Vestal, N.Y.
