September 29, 2006 James T. Carter, age 68, of Altmar, died Friday at his home. He was born on October 29, 1937, in Dannemora, the son of George and Mildred Lucia Carter. He lived in Altmar since 1970, previously living in Liverpool. He attended school in Dannemora and served in the U.S. Air Force from 1955-57. He married Gloria Consilvio on May 22, 1964. He was employed by General Motors in Syracuse for 20 years, retiring in 1993. Jim was a member of Altmar Defiance Fire Dept. and member of Russell Tryon Post #1435 Altmar American Legion. Surviving: his wife, Gloria; two sons, Christopher (Terri) Carter of Orwell, Carl (Annmarie) Carter of Charlotte, NC; one daughter, Jennifer Carter of Altmar; one brother, Francis Carter of Dannemora; one sister, Nancy Thomas of Liverpool; and nine grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Foster-Hax Funeral Home, 52 Park Street, Pulaski, with Rev. Don Wiltse officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Altmar. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
