MORRIS, James M., 87, of Palm Harbor, passed away April 2, 2008. Retired Lt. Col. Morris was born April 9, 1920, in Columbus, Ohio. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1942, served as a double Flying Ace in World War II and retired as a lieutenant colonel in 1969. He served the 77th fighter squadron in Spangalen, Germany, and was a Prisoner of War. After his military career, Mr. Morris worked for several years in the insurance business, as an agent with Bankers Life Co./Principal Financial Group in Tampa. He was a former member of the Sertoma Club and attended several Daedalian meetings. He was predeceased by his wife if 58 years, Eleanor. His is survived by his daughter, Lesley Walker (husband, Edward), son, James Morris II (wife, Veronica), and grandchildren, Edward Walker II (wife Tracey), Mack Walker, Landon Walker, Robert Morris, Travis Morris, Karina Morris and Stoney Morris. Visitation will be 10 a.m.-noon Saturday, April 5, with a funeral service to follow at noon, at Blount & Curry Funeral Home, West Chapel, 6802 Silvermill Drive, Tampa.
