James Earl Williams, 64, died Nov. 30, 2012, at Jackson Health System. He was born in Gordon, Ala., and was a longtime resident of St. Lucie County. He was retired in the agriculture business as an inspector. He was a member of Resurrection Life Church. He served in the Navy and received the National Defense Service Medal. Survivors include his son, Larod Williams of Florida; daughter, Khadijcha Williams of Fort Pierce; brothers, Nathaniel Williams of Virginia, Timothy Williams of Miami; sisters, Mamie Hernandez of Miami, Jacqueline Williams of Atlanta, Anna Williams, of Port St. Lucie; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Willer Strong Williams; parents, Annie F. Safford and Homer Williams; brothers, Larry Williams, Homer Williams; and sister, Carolyn Williams. Services: Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Dec. 14 at Stone Brothers Funeral Home. A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Dec. 15 at Resurrection Life Family Worship Center.
