James (Jim) Davis, 75, of Lecanto, Fla., passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, Jan. 19, 2014, under the loving care of Hospice of Citrus County. Jim was born on April 17, 1938, in Blackwater, Mo., the son of Vernon and Alfrieda Davis. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.Jim was preceded in death by his brothers, Norbie, Virgil and Eddie, and sister, Rosemary. He leaves behind his loving wife, Rosie; daughter, Carla Sheetz and her husband Steve of Rockwall, Texas; stepchildren, Gina Schoenenberger and husband Dan of Hoffman Estates, Ill., and Michele Sortor and husband Sean of Chesterfield, Mo.; granddaughters, Danielle, Dallas, Brianna, Abby and Ellie; brothers, Martin, Roger, Steve and Bob; and sister, Betty. Funeral services for Mr. Davis will be at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2014, at the Heinz Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until the hour of services. Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014, at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, with the procession leaving the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast, P.O.
