James A. Williams Beloved uncle and great friend SHORTSVILLE - James A. "Jimmy" Williams, age 74, passed away on Friday, May 4, 2012, with his family by his side. He is survived by two adoring nieces, Bonnie (Jim) Smithers and Cindy (Phil) Harris; two brothers, Bob (Norma) Williams and Harry (Bev) Williams; sister, Dolores Ferguson; and many other nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by four brothers, John "Jackie" (his twin), David, Arthur and Ronald Williams; three sisters, Geraldine Nichols, Renee Bremer and Joan "J" Race, his caregiver of 23 years. Jimmy was born in Shortsville and was the son of David and Marie (Bement) Williams. He attended Shortsville schools. Jimmy was a U.S. Army veteran and during his enlistment he suffered a head injury at the age of 20. He worked at Papec in Shortsville for several years. Jimmy was a life member of Citizens Hose Company Shortsville Fire Department and St. Dominic Church. He was truly loved and will never be forgotten. Friends may call tomorrow (Monday) from 4 to 7 p.m. at Johnson-Kennedy Funeral Home Inc., 47 N. Main St., Canandaigua. His funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Dominic Church, Main St., Shortsville. Interment, with military honors, will be in St. Rose Cemetery, Shortsville. Memorial contributions may be made to House of John, 14 Spring St., Clifton Springs, NY 14432; or Happy Tails Animal Shelter, 2976 County Road 48, Canandaigua, NY 14424.
