RICHARD - Jacques G. age 82 of Franklin Lakes, NJ died Monday, October 11, 2004. Born in Tenafly, he lived in Mahwah and Wyckoff. He met his first wife, Nan Laud Brown and married her before WW II. He served in the Flying Tigers Division of the 17th Air Force on a C-47 and flew "The Hump" in China. He was awarded several medals including the Distinguished Flying Cross. He was a parishioner of St. Elizabeth's R.C. Church where he served as a Eucharistic Minister and Lector. He served on an interfaith board in the Wyckoff area, founded, and ran a group to help unemployed men find jobs. He worked in the textile industry and was Vice President of Russell Mills and later the President of Silver and Richard, NYC. His wife of 56 years Nan predeceased him in 1999. Surviving are his five children, Jacqueline Richard Jones, Peggy Richard Bracco, John Richard, Peter Richard and Christopher Richard, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren from his first marriage. In 2001, he married Kathryn (Mc Bride) Kruckel of Franklin Lakes. He is survived by his spouse Kathryn Kruckel Richard and her four children, Kim Kruckel Baptista, Ted Kruckel, Kerry Kruckel Gibbs and Kip Kruckel, and four grandchildren. He embraced life and especially loved the outdoors. His children most remember him for a lifetime of laughter and adventure. He touched all he met with kindness and respect. All of us will miss him greatly. Visiting Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, 257 Godwin Ave. Wyckoff, NJ. Funeral Mass Friday 10 AM at St. Elizabeth's R.C.
