Jackie D. Jackson, 82, Seymour, passed away at 11:55 a.m. Sunday, April 25, 2010, at The Waters of Scottsburg.In 1948, Jackie started her career in the nursing field. She retired in 1990. She started private nursing in 1993. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and served in various areas of the church. She was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary, Voters Board and ARC Board.Born March 18, 1928, in Seymour, she was the daughter of Earl and Leona Railling Hooper, both of whom preceded her in death. On Dec. 31, 1945, she married Jerry E. Jackson, who preceded her in death in 1991.Survivors include her granddaughter, Christina (Tim) Narber; two great-grandchildren, Rachel Taskey and Christian Narber; one sister, Elizabeth Otte; and a beloved friend, Mary Alice Goble.She was preceded in death by her son, Danny Lee Jackson; daughter-in-law, Betty Jackson; and several brothers and sisters.The Rev. Jeffrey Stuckwisch will conduct graveside services at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Chestnut Ridge Cemetery.Memorials may be written to Zion Lutheran Church, Seymour High School or Trinity Lutheran High School.Arrangements have been entrusted to Voss and Sons Funeral Service.www.vossfuneralservice.com
