GAFFNEY, SC-- Irene Emma Marr Bryant, 91, of 224 Maple Drive, died Monday, May 1, 2006, at Magnolia Manor of Inman. Born January 14, 1915, in Bemis, TN, she was the daughter of the late William James and Rose Irene Hawkersmith Marr and the wife of the late Samuel Nichols Bryant. She was a member of Westside Baptist Church of Spartanburg where she was a Sunday School teacher and previously served as GA leader at Morningside Baptist Church of Spartanburg.Survivors include a son, Don M. Bryant and his wife Linda of LaGrange, GA; two daughters, Janis B. Brannon and her husband Rick of Gaffney, and Joan B. Bryant of Spartanburg; a brother, Fred Marr and his wife Lib of Spartanburg; a sister, Myrtle Bates of Prosperity; six grandchildren, Donna Hicks, Tami Fish, Julie Traynham, Pam Jackson, Jennifer Upchurch, and Elayne Tate; and six great-grandchildren, Bryanna Tate, Joshua Tate, Kourtni Traynham, Whitney Stewart, Lauren Stewart, and Jacob Moss. She was predeceased by a son, Jerry Lee Bryant; a daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and John Hicks; and a daughter, Lanis Bryant.Visitation will be 2-3:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 3, 2006, at Floyds Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 4:00 p.m. at the Chapel conducted by Rev. Rick Taylor.
